Mothers On a Mission (MOM) is a nonprofit charitable organization based in Westfield, NJ. Our mission is to help women and children in developing countries achieve equality and justice through education and healthcare.

MOM fulfills its mission through a variety of initiatives.  From silent & live auctions, t-shirt drives, Halloween costume sales, and other fundraising efforts, MOM proves that Every Helping Hand Adds Hope.  Since its inception in 2009, MOM has raised almost $150,000 and collected countless donations of clothing, sheets, blankets, vitamins, and other items for their charities.

Our projects have helped women and children in countries around the world including Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, as well as the United States.

Our Inspiration

After reading Half the Sky by Nicholas Kristof, Kerry Mooney and Ali Costalos were moved by the struggle of women and children in the developing world.  They founded MOM in 2009 and since then MOM has grown to 20 members strong and has hosted numerous charitable events.

In July 2013, MOM was featured on the website Half the Sky Movement- an initiative to turn oppression into opportunity for women worldwide.

Ali Costalos & Kerry Mooney pose with Nicholas Kristof, author of Half the Sky.

Mothers On a Mission (MOM) is a registered 501(c)(3)  nonprofit charitable organization.  We hope you will visit our website again soon to see what projects we have planned.  To get involved with MOM, or learn more about our upcoming events, please fill out our contact form.
