Children's Ark Orphanage
Children’s Ark was opened in 2005 and their ultimate goal is to protect and educate orphaned children.  They provide  care for almost 100 children of all ages.  Uganda has 2 million orphans.  Their parents have died primarily from AIDS, malaria or warfare.  Approximately half the population of Uganda is under the age of 15.
100% of donations go to the orphans at Children’s Ark:
  • $50 provides food, clothing & basic healthcare for a year
  • $50 provides school supplies for a year
  • $100 provides school fees for a year

  • $350 sponsors a child – this provides shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, school fees and school supplies to them for a year.  The sponsor is assigned a specific child and receive information and updates about that child during the year.
MOM is still accepting donations.  To sponsor a child or make a donation, please email us and request a Sponsor Form. Your tax deductible contribution would make a significant difference is the life of a child

MOM initiative provides clean drinking water – 2010/2011
Beginning in the Summer of 2010, MOM teamed up with Charity: WaterOur goal: to fund the building of a freshwater well that would provide clean water to a village in a developing country.  During the course of a few months, money was collected via summer sports camps, personal donations, race sponsorships, and lemonade stands.  MOM raised over $5,000 – the amount needed to sponsor and build a well.  100% of the proceeds went directly to the building and maintenance of a specific well, including the establishment of a water council that is made up of local villagers, half of whom must be women.  Our well is being constucted in Ethiopia and will take approximately one year to build.  Once completed, it will be able to be viewed on the Charity: Water website.  To read the entire story, please refer to this article.  In the Summer of 2011 MOM started collecting for a second well and we are well on our way to our $5,000 goal.
